Thank you for your recent purchase. This guide applies to our High Heel Stretcher. High heels often feel tight through the toe box or create pressure at specific points. This stretcher is designed to gradually create space where it’s needed, improving comfort without distorting the shape of the shoe. Follow this guide for the best results.
Before inserting the stretcher, ensure it is fully closed by turning the widening handle anti-clockwise. This allows it to slide in smoothly and avoids unnecessary resistance during insertion.
Apply Trimly Shoe Stretch Spray inside the shoe, focusing on the areas that feel tight or pinch. This softens the leather so it stretches more easily and evenly.
Insert the Spot Stretching Plug(s) [B] into the Toe Block [A] if required.
Slide the Toe Block [A] into the toe box. Once inserted, angle the stretcher so it follows the natural line of the heel, allowing it to sit properly within the shoe.
Turn the widening handle (C) clockwise to expand the toe block and widen the heel stretcher.
Once resistance is felt, add two to three additional turns to create the stretch.
Leave the stretcher inside the heel for 6–8 hours.
For tighter shoes or thicker leather, leaving it overnight often produces better results.
To remove the stretcher, first release the pressure turn the widening handle [C] counter-clockwise
This retracts the blocks so the stretcher can be removed easily. Pull it out slowly.
You can typically gain up to half a size in width. Stretching length is limited and less reliable.
Spot stretching using the bunion plugs can provide good to excellent relief.
Not essential, but recommended, especially if you're in a rush.
Trimly Stretch Spray helps soften the material and improves how well the stretch holds.
Best results come from leather and suede.
Canvas and some synthetics may stretch slightly, but they often revert over time. Fully synthetic uppers usually resist stretching.
Most heels respond within 1 to 3 rounds.
Stretch, remove, try on, then repeat if needed.
If there’s no improvement after three attempts, the shoe is likely too small or unsuitable for stretching with this device.
Common reasons:
Applying too much tension can overstretch your heels, leaving them loose and misshapen. It can also damage the stretcher’s threading, making it difficult or impossible to use.
Tip: When you start to feel tension, give the turning handle three more turns. That's the sweet spot.
